- AniCu (Anime Curtin) is a special interest club, based in Curtin University's Bentley Campus, created to bring together and provide students, who share a common interest in anime and manga, with a social setting to collectively share their interests.
- AniCu seeks to introduce an appreciation for anime, manga and Japanese culture through our activities and events, with the hope of broadening the anime community within Curtin University.
- AniCu is currently affiliated with PAniC, JAFWA, UWAnime, POWA and Pencafe
- AniCu was founded in 2008 by Curtin students who were upset that Curtin University did not have an anime club.
- On 12th of March, AniCu began its official advertising campaign with a stall during the Curtin Sports and Culture Day. The stall proved successful, more than doubling the number of members to a grand total of 63 members. This provided us with sufficient funds to run our first event: a movie screening! The event allowed us to raise more funds through the sales of pocky, (spicy) ramen and green tea ice cream.
- Around that time we had also managed to acquire a common room for Tuesdays and establish the Wednesday CFT (Common Free Time) screenings.
As an AniCu member, you will be entitled to benefits provided by our affiliates in the Perth anime community:
