Assassins! (4th event)
Posted 14th August 2010 by hoshikageHey guys, it’s time for our 4th event! A game of “Assassins” will be held during the tute free week on the 1st of September. If you're not sure what Assassins is, it is a popular live action game where players try to eliminate each other from the game using mock weapons in an effort to become the last surviving player. It's not exactly the same though, we've made some modifications to suit our needs.
Here are some brief details:
Date: 1st September 2010, Wednesday
Time: 10:30am - 4pm
Venue: Outside Haydn Williams Lecture Theater (Building 405)
GENERAL RULES:
- The game will be held over a day.
- It will have a time limit and boundaries will be set on the day.
- Each player will have to email some personal details ( Curtin Student ID, mobile number, name, picture, weapon/s of choice) BEFORE the day of the event.
- An ID card or a badge with the player's photo and a unique number on a poker chip will be used for identity and game purposes.
- Weapons must be provided by each player. These may include spoons, water guns, plastic materials, nerf guns, , rubber animals, other harmless traps, inflatable items and pretty much anything else as long as it is NOT CAPABLE OF CAUSING PHYSICAL HARM!
- You will be assigned a random target on the day.
GAMEPLAY RULES:
- Players will be rewarded “game money” for successful kills.
- The game money can be used to buy clues and other stuff.
- Players will be informed of what and where the Safe Zones (Areas where kills cannot be made) are.
- Clue cards/mission cards will be scattered around campus within the designated playing area for players to exchange for clues at "the desk".
- Phones, email and/or a dedicated website will be used for communication between players and moderators.
- Players will be able to loot their kills. (Target's poker chip, details, etc.)
- Points given will be based on how players achieved their kill(s). (ie. A melee kill will give you more points than a ranged kill)
- Players will be split into 3 groups, named “Guilds” in the game.
More about the game will be explained to players on the day.
There will also be screenings and video games to entertain players who have been eliminated.
